Training Resources for Effective HR Management in Nonprofits
Overview
This project builds on the HR Council’s work to create a series of HR Management Standards by developing training resources to build the capacity of managers in small and mid-sized nonprofits to implement sound HR management practices.
Using the Standards framework, the goal of this project is to build the capacity of managers in small and mid-sized nonprofits (those with less than 10 and less than 100 employees respectively) to implement sound HR management practices.
Project Activities
The project activitie are overseen by an Advisory Committee of approximately 8 to 10 individuals. Beginning in September 2009 with its completion scheduled for June 2011, the project’s goal is to be achieved through the development of the following project components:
- Learning Modules that will provide curriculum content based on the Standards and links to tools and information in the HR Toolkit
- A Trainer’s Guide that will support the delivery of the Learning Modules through the creation of a facilitated one day session
- A Delivery Strategy that will identify other methods to ensure delivery of the Learning Modules and Trainer’s Guide effectively to the sector
